WDS The SMAART Web Distribution System Broad acceptance of digital imaging in radiology practices has enabled a "filmless" environment throughout healthcare. SMAART’s Web Distribution System - the WDS - extends the reach of this filmless environment - called PACS - to the surrounding physician community. The WDS delivers inexpensive, timely and convenient remote access to a patient’s digital images and radiology reports. Applications for the SMAART-WDS include rapid, convenient image access for referring physicians as well as "virtual PACS" for radiology practices.
